This program is designed for couples eager to dance while they also learn about the differences between the old and the newest parts of the capital city; visit one of the most beautiful natural sites on the island and a historical and cultural city; and enjoy Cuban night life while practicing all you have learned during your daytime lessons

PROGRAMME

DAY 1 » ARRIVING TO HAVANA

You will be welcomed in Havana at the Jose Marti International Airport and transferred to Habana 612 hotel in the old part of the city. Accommodation will be on Bed & Breakfast basis.

DAY 2 – DISCOVERING COLONIAL AND STARTING TO MOVE YOUR HIPS

Right after breakfast, your guide will take you for a walking tour around Old Havana historical centre to discover the architectural beauty of this city. Make sure you wear comfy shoes for you stroll along the cobbled-streets to visit the main squares of the colonial area: Plaza de Armas, Plaza de San Francisco de Asis, Plaza Vieja and Plaza de la Catedral. After a typical lunch included at a local restaurant, you´ll be taken to a dance hall in Old Havana to move your hips and feet at the pace of Cuban music for 90 minutes with the assistance of a qualified instructor. Pay attention to your instructor for that same night you´ll be taken to a night spot (entrance included) to dance for 3 hours with a drink included. Afterwards, you´ll be transferred to your hotel.

DAY 3 – DISCOVERING MODERN HAVANA AND DANCING

On your third day, once you have had the first meal of the day, you will get on the car with your guide who will take you to see the modern part of the city with various stops at some of their best attractions: The Capitol building, the Revolution square and the Hotel Nacional de Cuba. Photographing is a must while you are driven along former residential neighborhoods Vedado and Miramar to appreciate different architectural styles. After a typical lunch at a paladar in the suburbs you will be taken for your second session of dance lessons. Tonight another salsa night will give you the opportunity to put into practice everything you have learned (entrance and a complimentary drink are included).

DAY 4 – CONTINUE TO DANCE ON A DIFFERENT SCENARIO

After breakfast a collective transfer will drive to Trinidad where you will stay for 2 nights at a nice private house accommodation with dinner included on your first night. Once you have freshened up and settled at your place of accommodation, you will be ready for your salsa lessons. In the evening, you will also visit a salsa night spot with entrance and one drink included.

DAY 5 – LEARNING ABOUT THIS TREASURE CITY

After having your first meal of the day, you will meet your guide to live a totally new experience. Put on your comfy shoes and clothing to travel to Valle de los Ingenios (Sugar Mill Valley) and learn about this region´s architectural landmarks testifying to the area´s economic flourishing during the 18th and 19th centuries. Visit Casa de Manaca-Iznaga and Guachinango, where the plantation house remains. Climb to the top of the Manaca-Iznaga tower and enjoy some of the best views in Cuba. Take a look at La Casa del Alfarero, a ceramic workshop. Lunch is at a local restaurant. Then, get ready for your next salsa lesson for in the evening there will be another salsa night with a complimentary drink and entrance included.

DAY 6 – GOING BACK TO HAVANA

After breakfast you will be transferred on a collective bus back to Havana to continue to enjoy more of the marvels of this city. At 19:30 hrs you will leave the hotel accompanied by your guide to enjoy the beauty of the capital city at night. Appreciate the importance of the seafront for locals as you ride all along it on a vintage car for an hour till you arrive to La Cabana fortress just in time to witness one of the most typical Havana traditions: The Cannon Shot Ceremony (entrance included). Afterwards, you will be taken to a private restaurant (or paladar) to try some of Cuba’s delicious dishes with one drink included. Continue to enjoy nightlife in Havana at a bar in Old Havana with 2 drinks included. You may choose the one you prefer or you could ask your guide for suggestions. At midnight, after sipping a couple of Mojitos or Cuba Libres, he/she will take you back to your hotel in Old Havana.

DAY 7 – EXPLORING THE BEAUTY OF VIÑALES

Breakfast will seem a lifetime when you wake up and get into your comfy shoes and clothes for an early collective excursion to the western region of the island. On your 7th day in Cuba, you will discover the amazing beauty of Viñales Valley and Pinar del Rio city combining the experience of living nature and colonial heritage by touring around Viñales and the city of Pinar del Rio on the same day. Begin with a visit to Viñales valley highlights: the Prehistoric Mural, Los Jazmines lookout point, the Indian Cave and the Palenque de los Cimarrones. After lunch at a local restaurant with one drink included, the tour continues to Pinar del Rio city. Enjoy the sights of a XIX century colonial city with its array of beautiful neoclassical buildings. Stop to taste the local liqueur Guayabita del Pinar at the factory and then, proceed on to learn about the process of making cigars at “Francisco Donatien” factory. Return to Havana and in the evening, you´ll witness the colourful show with music and dancing at Cabaret Parisien and a gourmet menu at Restaurant Comedor Aguiar, at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba. One welcome cocktail and one drink are included.

DAY 8 – DEPARTING FROM CUBA

Well, that´s about all for now. But, while you wait for your transfer to the Havana International Airport to take your outbound flight, you may spend your time at the craft market buying some nice souvenirs for your friends and family, or visiting the ARTEX shop to buy some Cuban music CDs and continue to practice at home all you have learned during your holidays. You won´t regret it!
