Santa Clara

Heroically haunted by a past of colonial traditions, flying bullets and derailed trains, the so called “City of Che” suggests a walk through the history of the Cuban Revolution and the life of one of its most respected leaders, Ernesto Guevara. It is Santa Clara, the land keeping the remains of the hero whose legacy is to be found in every street, house or neighbouring hill of this urban centre.

As Cienfuegos and Trinidad, the region of Villa Clara is also embraced by the Escambray Mountains offering visitors a wide array of eco exursions.

The Hanabanilla Lake, a beautiful resort also offers all sorts of opportunities for boating, taking ferry trips, climbing, pony trekking and sailing.
